The Aspire Practice was founded by Speech & Language Therapist, Debbie Wilson. She is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), The Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT) and the Association of Speech & Language Therapists in Independent Practice (ASLTIP).

Her NHS and independent roles have provided her with extensive experience in assessing and treating clients with acquired brain injury and neurological conditions at all stages of recovery, utilising a broad range of treatment approaches to provide person-centred goal-orientated therapy.

Debbie also specialises in the assessment and treatment of dysphagia (swallowing disorders). She is trained in videofluoroscopy and fiberoptic endoscopic evaluation of swallowing (FEES), which has provided her with a thorough understanding of how the swallow works and how to treat it. She has achieved a masters level qualification in dysphagia practice at Newcastle University. Debbie is a provider of Neuro Muscular Electrical Stimulation (NMES), an intensive dysphagia therapy treatment using electrodes on the skin to achieve optimum results from therapeutic exercises.

In recent years, Debbie has become skilled at assessing and treating children with speech, language and communication needs. This includes children with delayed speech and language, children with developmental disorders and also children with acquired brain injuries.
